Creating AR/VR training simulations without programming and Unity knowledge

In the current digital age, effective employee training is becoming a key factor for the success of companies. Virtual (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies open up new possibilities for training, onboarding or product presentations. The latest platforms for creating VR and AR trainings allow companies to create interactive courses without the need for programming knowledge. This means that anyone can design simulations and training scenarios without the need for complex technical adjustments. In addition, the training modules are available on a variety of devices, which opens up new possibilities for flexible and effective training.

At AYES, we know that time is important for our customers, which is why we save units of time with smart platforms.

The ideal solution is a cloud-based platform for creating and managing workouts in VR and AR environments. It enables businesses and organizations to create immersive learning scenarios that increase learning efficiency and reduce training costs. The system is designed to require no programming skills (so-called no-code platform), making it accessible to a wide range of users – from HR departments to professional trainers.

The platform offers an intuitive web editor that allows for easy creation of training modules, content management and monitoring of participants’ progress. VR and AR trainings are compatible with a variety of devices, including VR headsets, tablets, computers, and mobile devices.

Examples of practical use of VR and AR training in companies

  • Corporate training and employee development

VR and AR trainings enable interactive learning that is much more effective than traditional training. Employees can practice different scenarios and learn important skills, whether it’s technical skills, soft skills, or security training.

  • Onboarding of new employees

New employees can be quickly and efficiently introduced to business processes through immersive VR experiences that accelerate their adaptation.

  • Simulations and safety trainings

The platform allows you to create realistic simulations of risky situations (e.g. working at heights, handling hazardous substances, high voltage) that employees complete in a safe virtual environment.

  • Product training and presentations

The platform allows companies to interactively present their products and services to customers or business partners through augmented reality.

  • Remote learning and remote training

With the support of mobile and desktop devices, it is possible to effectively train employees regardless of their physical location, eliminating travel costs.

Detailed description of the software

1. Compatibility

All created simulations are available from several types of devices. It is a cloud-based platform whose simulations are available from a web browser, without the need for additional applications, which simplifies access for all users.

It can be used on Android, iOS and Huawei devices (phones, tablets). You can also complete the simulation directly via a web browser via a computer and laptop (Windows, Mac), for which there is also a desktop application for a more interactive and faster launch of the VR simulation. The third and best way is to run simulations through AR/VR/MR headsets. The installed native app is compatible with headsets: Meta Quest (2; 3; Pro), PICO, HTC VIVE (Pro; Focus 3), Microsoft HoloLens 2.

2. Wide selection of 2D/3D elements

The software offers a large number of elements that are necessary building blocks to create a simulation environment. The advantage of the software is that it contains its own predefined library of 3D models, which you can use if you do not have your own 3D models, or you need basic equipment to complete your simulation.

For your own import of elements, in the form of drag & drop, you have the following options:

  • 3D model / environment / character – in formats. GLB; . GLTF; . FBX; . OBJ
  • 2D Images/Videos
  • 360° images / videos
  • Sounds, Recordings, Audio

A great added value is also the function of converting text to spoken word. The software offers a choice of different speech styles and emotions to make the simulation more realistic.

3. Use of artificial intelligence (AI)

A helpful element is also the use of artificial intelligence in the form of an entity (human, robot), which is always at the user’s hand and, if helped, can interact and respond to the user’s questions in a relevant way. The use of AI improves the efficiency and personalization of learning experiences. Some of the main tools using AI are:

  • creation of precise and customized instructions for 3D characters in soft skill trainings
  • creation of realistic and interactive scenarios
  • the possibility of integrating interactive voice guides into training modules. With over 30 voices available in different languages, 3D characters can interact with participants, increasing immersion and learning efficiency.

These AI tools are designed to be user-friendly and do not require programming knowledge, allowing content to be created and customized directly in the browser. AI integration thus supports a dynamic and adaptive learning environment that adapts to the individual needs of participants.

4. The complexity of creating simulations

The editor is built on a so-called no-code platform, so it uses an intuitive drag & drop tool to create personalized VR/AR and AI trainings without the need for coding, which reduces costs by up to 80%. This tool is equipped with a number of comprehensive features that allow you to create, customize, and distribute educational content efficiently. You can individually define interactions, how objects respond to user actions such as clicks, touches, or movements, creating a dynamic and immersive experience. You can also assign animations to 3D models that are triggered based on certain events or interactions, which increases realism and user engagement.

The platform also has a definition of whether 3D models will be firmly anchored in space or can be manipulated. For each 3D object, it is possible to set the physical laws of gravity.

In case the complexity of the editor is not enough for you, it is also possible to write your own logical script

5. “Single-user” and “multi-user” modes of virtual classrooms

The “Single-user” mode is designed for individual learning, where the user moves independently in a VR or AR environment and interacts with the content at their own pace. It is ideal for self-study, allows you to focus on individual needs and provides flexibility in training planning.

“Multi-user” mode allows multiple participants to join the same virtual session at the same time, regardless of their physical location. Participants can collaborate, communicate, and learn together in real-time, promoting teamwork and interactive learning. This mode is especially useful for group training, workshops, or simulations where collaboration and communication between team members are important.

6. Manage trained sessions

The software offers a feature that allows efficient organization and management of VR/AR trainings, seminars, and events. With the Managed Kiosk mode activated, all attendees are automatically redirected to the virtual waiting room. Trainers can use the web management system to access the participants’ devices in a targeted manner and assign them to specific training sessions – individually or for the whole group at once. In this way, group training sessions can be started and paused directly from the laptop and the content can be flexibly changed for all or individual participants as needed.

7. Data security and user roles

The platform provides secure login via SSO and Azure/Entra ID integration, using Microsoft Azure hosting with regular updates and high security standards.

In the platform, you can choose from several roles:

  • Administrator – the highest role for managing the entire platform and creating simulations
  • Author – role only with access to create simulations without the ability to manage the platform
  • Author with limited access – a role with limited access for editing selected simulations
  • User – the end user who is trained and uses the created simulations

8.  Traceability and analysis of data from training

The software records and manages various data from VR/AR simulations to provide a comprehensive view of participants’ performance and progress. Key data include:

  • Participant progress: Monitor the progress of individual users within the training modules, including completed tasks and milestones achieved.
  • Interactions and activity: Recording specific actions that participants perform during simulations, such as decisions, reactions to situations, and use of tools.
  • Results and assessments: Track test performance, evaluate performance, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Time spent in simulations: Record the total time that participants spend in each training module, which helps in evaluating the effectiveness of training.

When it comes to integration with other LMS systems, the software supports the xAPI standard, allowing for seamless interconnection with different platforms. This means that VR/AR trainings can be run directly from your existing LMS, with all relevant participant progress and performance data synchronized and centrally managed. Supported LMSs include Workday, Cornerstone, Docebo, and more. This flexibility ensures that organizations can easily integrate the created VR/AR and AI simulations into their current learning infrastructures without the need for major modifications.

In the final word, we will summarize the main functionalities into 6 key benefits for your business:
